A free flight is flying unattached to the ground. The altitude we fly ranges from skimming across a lake to 10,000 feet or so, generally around 1000 to 2000 feet.

The temperature difference is approx. 1 degree per 1000 feet. Flights last from  45 min to 1&1/2 hours depending on wind, temperature, and landing spots.

Free Flight

A tethered balloon is attached to the ground with three or four ropes that will allow the balloon to rise about 50 feet in the air and come back down in the same place. This is a great way to draw attention to a business,  raise money for a charity, or as a surprise for your friends at a party

Celebration

One thing we Balloonist do well is Celebrate!

After every flight we celebrate the flight with a Champagne toast,

Hors d'oeuvres, a First Flight Ceremony, a history lesson about ballooning

and tell  a few stories about past experiences.

Every Flight is a unique adventure,

and a Fun Time is had by all.

The best time to fly is at Sunrise because winds are at the calmest. We would meet approx. 30minutes before sunrise to determine the speed and direction of the winds at that time and go to a launch site that will carry us to an area where there are landing sites.

The next best time to fly is in the late afternoon, meeting approx. 3 hours before sunset so we may enjoy a ride and be on the ground before sunset to have our  Flight Celebration with Champagne.

The adventure takes almost three hours with about one hour of flight time, give or take a few minutes depending on the winds and availability of landing sites.

We usually meet and fly around the Roswell-Alpharetta area
